“Kinship – sympathetic resonance” er en fælles udstilling af Marie Holm Østerskov, Arendse Krabbe og Mette Borup Kristensen, med værker der på forskellige måder skaber forbindelse mellem mennesket og naturen, og rækker ud efter hinanden i genkendelse af slægtskabet mellem kunstneriske tilgange og praksisser. Fælles for de tre kunstnere er en stedsspecifik tilgang med ønsket om at sanse og forbinde sig til miljøet udenom os, til planteverdenen og årstiden samt brugen af indsamlede naturmaterialer i værkerne.
Ved at forholde sig til krop, sted, natur og tid fortæller kunstnerne samtidigt om det lille og det store liv, i mikro og makro skala, og vi bliver mindet om at stoppe op og sanse verden omkring os, lytte, smage og kigge på den, og dermed forbinde os til noget alment og universelt.
Udstillingen er en del af c4 Projects udstillingsprogram: “The Hospitality Programme”, og i tråd med temaet, er kunstnerne værter for sessioner, som de besøgende kan deltage i, for at skabe forbindelse til hinanden, naturen og stedet – sessioner der også giver indblik i kunstnernes arbejdsmetoder og måder at arbejde med naturen i deres praksisser.
På udstillingen vises en installation af naturmaterialer, plantemedicin og grafiske tryk af Mette Borup Kristensen. Hvert værk og materiale i installationen har en forbindelse og betydning, og danner tilsammen et geometrisk mønster, hvis form er inspireret af planetforbindelser i horoskopet for dato og tid for kunstnerens sansevandring.
Arendse Krabbes værker består af to tekster samt en lyttesituation hvis lydkilder er indsamlede naturmaterialer og fundne objekter fra lokalområdet. Lydkilderne udstilles og aktiveres for de besøgende i en lyttesituation. Teksternes afkom er lyttesituationen, der omfavner kunstnerens stedsans, foranderlige rytmer og en lyst til at dele disse erfaringer med andre.
Fire lysskulpturer udgør en helhed i Marie Holm Østerskovs bidrag til udstillingen sammen med fire cyanotypi tekstilværker i form at poser til indsamling. I værkerne arbejder kunstneren med naturmaterialer og plantefarve fra lokalområdet. Alle værker aktiveres i et afskedsritual d. 14/10.

Session 1: Lyttesituation af Arendse Krabbe
Lørdag d. 07. oktober kl. 12-13.30
Du inviteres til en lyttesituation hvor lokalt indsamlede naturmaterialer og fundne objekter bruges som lydkilder i en sagte lydkomposition orkestreret af Arendse Krabbe. Deltagerne ligger ned på gulvet med lukkede øjne og åbne ører.
Efter lyttesituationen serveres en kop thé.
Du skal klæde dig i behageligt tøj.

I sin kunstneriske praksis arbejder Arendse Krabbe med hvad det vil sige at lytte. Med en lyst til at åbne rum for forskellighed, praktiserer Krabbe en lytning, der undersøger bevægelse, sammenfiltrede forhold og kompleksitet. Akten at lytte rummer et potentiale for nye kollektive konstellationer på tværs af arter, systemer og grænser. Arendse Krabbes praksis materialiserer sig i form af lyttevandringer, lyttesituationer, lydværker, tekst og performance.
I sin kunstneriske praksis arbejder Arendse Krabbe med hvad det vil sige at lytte. Lørdag d 14. oktober kl. 17-19
I forbindelse med efterårets komme inviterer Marie Holm Østerskov dig med ind i udstillingen “Kinship – sympathetic resonance” for at deltage i et afskedsritual. Hvad du tager afsked med, ved du måske, men det kan også være, at du endnu ikke ved det. I kommunikation med områdets fauna samler vi svarene og tager afsked med det, vi skal slippe for langsomt at gøre plads til det nye. Du skal ikke forberede noget, men blot komme som du er. I ritualet aktiveres kunstnerens værker i udstillingen.
Der serveres forskelligt plante afkog fra området omkring c4 projects samt brød.
Du skal klæde dig i behageligt tøj, tag overtøj med som er passende til vejret.

På Mette Borup Kristensens sansevandring i lokalområdet omkring Enghave Plads og Enghave Park, går vi på opdagelse med alle vores sanser for at forbinde os til stedets natur og derigennem åbne op for vores egen indre natur og den spejling vi måske kan finde. Vi skal både smage, dufte, lytte, mærke og se på naturen omkring os. Måske får vi også kontakt med vores 6. sans?
Medbring notesbog, skrive/tegnegrej og tøj der passer til at være ude i.
Vi starter i c4 Projects og slutter også her med at sidde i cirkel og dele om oplevelsen.

Om Mette Borup Kristensen
At genskabe tilhørsforhold og nærvær med naturen er essensen i Mette Borup Kristensens arbejde og drivkraft som kunstner og menneske, og hendes virke findes i et krydsfelt mellem billedkunsten og det naturspirituelle. Hun er optaget af naturens og kunstens healende potentiale i forhold til de udfordringer vi står overfor med klimaforandringer og biodiversitetskrise. Gennem værker der skabes i dybt nærvær med naturen, forsøger hun at genskabe den forbindelse vi mennesker i den vestlige verden generelt, har mistet til naturen.

“Kinship – Sympathetic Resonance” is a group exhibition by Marie Holm Østerskov, Arendse Krabbe, and Mette Borup Kristensen, featuring works that connect human and nature, while reaching out in recognition of the kinship between artistic approaches and practices. All three artists share a site-specific approach with a desire to sense and connect to the environment around us, to the plant world and the seasons, and the use of collected natural materials in their works.
By addressing body, place, nature, and time, the artists simultaneously talk about the small and the large life, in micro and macro scale. We are reminded to stop and sense the world around us; to listen, taste, and look at it, thereby connecting us to something general and universal.
The exhibition is part of c4 Projects’ exhibition program: The Hospitality Programme. In line with the theme, the artists host sessions, which visitors can participate in, to connect with each other, nature, and the place — sessions that also provide insight into the artists’ working methods and ways of working with nature in their practices.
The exhibition features an installation of natural materials, plant medicine, and graphic prints by Mette Borup Kristensen. Each work and material in the installation has a connection and meaning, and together they form a geometric pattern, whose shape is inspired by planetary connections in the horoscope for the date and time of the artist’s sensory walk.
Arendse Krabbe’s works consist of two texts and a listening situation whose sound sources are collected natural materials and found objects from the local area. The sound sources are exhibited and activated for the participants of the listening situation session. The offspring of the texts is the listening situation, embracing the artist’s sense of place, changing rhythms, and a desire to share these experiences with others.
Four light sculptures make up a whole in Marie Holm Østerskov’s contribution to the exhibition, along with four cyanotype textile works in the form of bags. Østerskov’s works are made with natural materials and plant dyes from the local area. All works are activated in a farewell ritual on Oct. 14.
The exhibition is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, the Augustinus Foundation, the 15th of June Foundation, Aage and Johanne Luis-Hansens Foundation and the Copenhagen Municipality – Council for Visual Arts.

You are invited to a listening situation where locally collected natural materials and found objects are used as sound sources in a gentle sound composition orchestrated by Arendse Krabbe. Participants lie on the floor with closed eyes and open ears.
Tea will be served after the listening situation.
Please wear comfortable clothes.

In connection with the arrival of autumn, Marie Holm Østerskov invites you into the exhibition Kinship – Sympathetic Resonance to participate in a farewell ritual. What you say farewell to, you may already know, but you might also not know it yet. In communication with the local fauna, we collect the answers and say goodbye to what we need to let go of, to slowly make room for the new. You don’t need to prepare anything; just come as you are. In the ritual, the artist’s works in the exhibition are activated.
Different plant brews from the area around c4 projects and bread will be served.
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring outerwear appropriate for the weather.
Bring a notebook and writing utensils.

In her artistic practice, Marie Holm Østerskov works relationally with natural materials and the human body, which in performative photographs melt together and form complex bio-bodies between species. Saturday, Oct. 21, 12:00-2:00 PM
On Mette Borup Kristensen’s sensory walk in the local area around Enghave Plads and Enghave Park, we will explore with all of our senses to connect to the natural environment and thereby open up for our own inner nature and what we may find. We will taste, smell, listen, feel, and look at the nature around us. We may also get in touch with our sixth sense?
Bring a notebook, drawing/writing tools, and clothes suitable for being outside.
We start at c4 Projects and also end there by sitting in a circle and sharing the experience.

Her practice revolves around the intersection of visual art and natural spirituality. Through works created in deep presence with nature, she tries to recreate the connection we humans in the Western world generally have lost to nature.
